At TFI Dentistry we offer porcelain veneers from our Thornlands and Labrador dental practices in order to correct cosmetic dental concerns with their smile. We offer veneers made of porcelain as we believe that this material can achieve optimal aesthetic results while also remaining durable, meaning they can often withstand many of factors your teeth endure from day to day.
Porcelain veneers are thin, tooth coloured porcelain shells that are custom made to bond to the front surface of your teeth. Porcelain veneers often require a minimal amount of tooth reduction. Porcelain veneers are often considered to be a more conservative restoration than a crown. It is important however that the underlying tooth is strong, healthy and not heavily filled. Once placed, the veneers are very strong and will resist most of the forces placed upon them by a normal diet.
Treating cosmetic dental concerns
Porcelain veneers can be a suitable option in order to treat:
- Chipped or damaged teeth
- Misaligned teeth
- Teeth that are discoloured or blemished
- Teeth that appear either short or elongated
- Misshaped teeth
- Gaps between teeth

Receiving your veneer
Our staff will go above and beyond to help ensure that the process of receiving your dental veneer/s is both comfortable and efficient. Initially we will assess your teeth and identify if porcelain veneers would be a suitable treatment to address your specific dental concerns. Following your consultation our dental professionals will remove a small portion of your tooth’s enamel in order to place your porcelain veneer. The veneer will be shaped and colour matched to fit in seamlessly or enhance the appearance of your smile.
Composite bonding
Composite bonding utilises materials that match the shade, translucency and texture of your natural teeth in order to enhance or correct their appearance, creating discreet yet attractive results.
Composite bonding may be used to restore teeth that are discoloured, chipped, cracked, or to correct minor imperfections. It can usually be completed within just one visit and is generally one of the most cost effective ways to enhance your smile. This treatment is minimally invasive and is often used as an alternative to veneers.
During you initial consultation our dental professionals will assess your cosmetic concerns and identity if either porcelain veneers or composite bonding would be more suitable to address your concerns.
